INCREDIBLE promotes the implementation of the strategy for sustainable truffle management in Varaždin (Croatia)

Croatian Forest Research Institute (CFRI) has celebrated an on-line Science to Practice meeting addressed to gather ideas from stakeholders that will be useful as a starting point for future strategic documents with the topic of sustainable truffle management.

The event, an on-line consultation, was held (in two phases) from 1st May to 30th June and around 20 attendees expressed their ideas and comments on the draft prepared in advance by CFRI. Private forest owners, truffle pickers, R&D, government representatives and SME's involved in this Science to Practice event.

Autumn brought a rich harvest of ideas and information as partners from the INCREDIBLE project met in Barcelona for their third General Assembly. The project, which fosters innovation in science and practice exchange via five networks for Mediterranean non-wood forest products (NWFP), is moving into its final year and, as such, the time was ripe for in-depth reflection on how to use the remaining time most effectively, for maximum impact.

Seeking profitable alternatives for the adaptation to climate change of forest productions

With the aim of searching for economically viable and profitable alternatives for forest owners, a conference was held on 9 October focusing on the climate change scenarios that are expected and how they will affect forest production.

The meeting, which took place in the LUCIA building on the Miguel Delibes campus of the University of Valladolid (UVa), also addressed in the context of climate change what options for adaptation can have forest stands and the role that owners and managers have to play in this process.

O projeto INCREDIBLE pretende mostrar o papel importante dos produtos florestais não lenhosos (PFNL), como suporte de uma gestão florestal sustentável e do desenvolvimento rural, criando redes de transferência e partilha de conhecimento e experiência. O projeto INCREDIBLE – Redes de inovação em: Cortiça, Resina e produtos florestais comestíveis, para a região Mediterrânea; promove inovação e colaboração sectorial cruzada, para salientar o valor e o potencial dos PFNL na região.
